Amendment 3, the anti-casinos initiative was approved by Florida voters. Over $24 million was spent by the Seminole Tribe and over $20 million was spent by Disney in support of the measure.
Under the new law the development of new casinos in the future would not be done under the Florida government approval. Instead approval would have to be made from a statewide ballot vote. Regardless of where the casino would be built and regardless of what area the Florida voter resides in, the voters would have a say.
Disney supported the measure to eliminate tourism competition and maintain Florida’s family friendly image. The Seminoles also supported the measure to eliminate gaming competition. The law also does not apply to casinos built on tribal land.
Opposed to the measure was the Miami Dolphins. This was due to the possibility of sports betting not being legalized in the state.

A constitutional amendment that would change Florida casino laws is being supported by both the Seminole Tribe of Florida and Disney Worldwide Services. This decision on the proposed change would happen this November.
On July 30 both the Seminoles and Disney gave the political committee, Voters In Charge, $10 million to give support in the constitutional amendment that would prevent the future of gaming expansion in the state. As of August 03, the committee had $20 million in cash. Since 2017 over $14.6 million has been contributed by Disney to the group per the released finance records. $11.7 million has been given from the Seminoles. Voters In Charge has received 99 percent of their donations from these two groups.
Voters In Charge is a nonprofit political group. The amount of required signatures needed to place the measure on the November ballot were collected from the group.
The proposed bill is known as Amendment 3. It is also known as The Voter Control of Gambling Amendment. In order for it to pass, 60 percent of the voters would need to be in favor of the measure. Amendment 3 would give the voters the right to authorize and decide on future gaming expansion. The Legislature and the governor would not have as much power over the decision over how many and what types of games would be allowed.
The Seminoles are supporting the amendment in order to prevent slot machines from being installed and operated in eight counties. Currently only Florida tribal owned casinos and casinos in Broward and Miami-Dade counties are the only legal areas for slot machines to be in operation.
$300 million is being paid annually to the state by the Seminoles as part of an arrangement that would prevent other counties from offering slot gaming.

Six of the Florida casinos owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida will stop the use of plastic straws.Does Florida Have Casino Gambling
The change will be put into effect on September 01. The plastic straws will be replaced by drinking straws that are more eco-friendly. Bags that are for to go meals will be replaced by paper bags as well at the Florida casinos. This will occur by the middle of August.
The casinos that will be making these changes are the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa, the Seminole Casino Immokalee, the Seminole Casino Immokalee, and the Seminole Casino Immokalee. Also, both Hollywood located casinos. The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, the Seminole Classic Casino.
Biodegradable containers are currently in use at the restaurants owned by Seminole Gaming. The containers are used for to go food and are reusable and recyclable.
Seminole Gaming and the Seminole Tribe of Florida are striving to make a conscientious effort in their practices of sustainability.
This has been on a trend of other large companies vowing to be more ecofriendly and removing plastic straws and plastic stirrers for drinks.
Starbucks, Marriott International, and Royal Caribbean have also recently made the choice to remove plastic straws. So have tourist destinations like Sea World, Busch Gardens, and Walt Disney World.
All five city commissioners for Hallandale Beach have given approval for a plastic straw citywide ban. On September 05 a second vote will be made on the ban. If approved this will be the first city in Broward County to outlaw plastic straws

A new gaming compact has been agreed upon between the State of Florida and the Seminole Tribe. Under the new compact the state will receive $300 million. The tribe will have exclusive rights to slot machines and table games.
A lawsuit had been ongoing over previous compact. The tribe sued the state over a breach of compact. Florida had allowed for other gaming venues that were not owned by the Seminole’s to operate certain games. Last year the state submitted a counter lawsuit against the tribe. The new compact ends the litigation.
After the 2017 lawsuit, the tribe stopped playing the state the taxes that were agreed upon in the previous compact. Instead, the money was placed into an escrow account. Over time, the account grew to $120 million. That money will be paid out as part of the agreed upon $300 million to the state.
The $300 million payment will ensure that the tribe will have exclusive gaming rights. After May 2019, the payments will end. This will take place at the end of the legislative session.
Much of the money that is paid to the state from the gaming revenue funds environmental and education programs. Under the new gaming compact, payments from the tribe will go to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
The newly agreed upon gaming compact will be in effect until 2030.
Currently Seminole Hard Rock Casinos are investing over $2.4 billion into two locations. Those expansions are taking place in Hollywood and in Tampa. Construction jobs and permanent positions after the projects are complete will create thousands of jobs.
Voting will take place this November to determine if the state legislature or the residents of Florida should decide on the future of gaming expansion in the state.

This is where things get interesting. The Progressive betting blackjack strategy is when players vary their bets in some way from one hand to the next rather than alwaysbetting the same amount on every hand. There are all different types of betting progressions but they all have one common denominator. You either decrease or increase your next bet dependingupon whether the hand you just played won or lose.
Win progressions encourage you to increase your bet size after a winning hand. For example, you make a minimum bet of $10 and if you win, you raise your next stakes on the hand to $20.
There are all different kinds of win progressions. The most common is a 1-2-3-5 progression. This means you increase your bet by the above multiples after each winning hand butas soon as you experience a loss, you start the progression over with a 1 unit bet.
Proponents of win progressions will tell you that you’ll win more money if you win 5 consecutive hands compared to the amount you lose if you lose 5 consecutive hands. Of course, what theydon’t tell you is that you never know when that 5 consecutive winning hand streak will occur.
There are also betting progressions in which you increase your bet following a loss. These Martingale type betting progressions are dangerous and you should never consider using them.
There are also hybrid betting progressions, which have you increase your bets following a win, but after two or three success wins you lock up some profit and gradually regress your bets. Thecreativity of progressive bettors is never-ending.
First of all, the blackjack strategy for betting progressions does not change the 0.5% house edge one iota. There has never been a correlation between the hand just won (orlost) and your chance of winning the next hand. In other words, using the criteria of the result of one hand (W/L) to base how you bet on the next hand has no scientific validity. So bettingprogressions, in the long run, don’t work in the sense that they won’t improve your long-term chances of winning.
But here’s what betting progressions will do. First off they increase the fluctuation in your session bankroll compared to flat betting. This means you can win more using abetting progression compared to flat betting but you can also lose more. Secondly, betting progressions will increase the amount of money you wager per hour compared to flat betting. If a $10bettor uses a 1-2-3-5 betting progression, his average bet will $20. Over an hour he will average $20 times 80 hands or $1600 worth of bets. The casino’s expected win is 0.5% of $1600 or $8. Inother words, a $10 progressive bettor stands to lose twice as much per hour as a $10 flat bettor.
Here’s a tip to save you some money in the long run if you insist on using a betting progression. Instead of starting your progression at $10, start at a lower amount (ie. $5). This will reduceyour average bet to $10 per hour and cut your hourly theoretical loss rate in half.
But in the long run flat betting and betting progressions don’t work in the sense they won’t change the house edge against you and you will lose in the long run. So what betting system works?That, my friends, is card counting.Betting When You Have The Edge (Card Counting)
With card counting, you know when you have the edge based on the change in the composition of the decks and therefore you’ll know when it’s the right time to bet more. Sounlike betting progressions that are based on whether you win or lose the previous hands, card counting is based on the mix of cards that were played on previous hands. If more small valuecards were played in previous rounds, there are more big value cards left in the unplayed cards, and the edge shifts from dealer to the player. This would be the best time to bet more.
But I’m a realist. Not a whole lot of average blackjack players have the time or mental concentration during play that is required to master one of the popular point count cardcounting systems. These are readily available in blackjack books. But even though millions of blackjack books have been sold since Ed Thorp’s classic book, Beat The Dealer (circa 1962) firstrevealed card counting to the masses, the number of players who can successfully win money in the long run at blackjack number in the hundreds and thousands.

Recently, I read a Tribune news story about the Chairman of the DNA, Mr Andrew Wilson, not being allowed to gamble in a local casino. Accordingly, Bahamian nationals who reside abroad and are not married to a person who is prohibited from gambling in local casinos can come home and legally gamble in any casino in this country. Therefore, the reality is that some Bahamians can legally gamble in local casinos, and some Bahamians can’t. And some foreigners can gamble in local casinos, and some foreigners can’t. Why? Pro Gambling-the act of playing for stakes in the hope of winning illegal-prohibited by law or by official or accepted rules Minor- not of legal age (in this case under the age of 21 or 18 if you live in Nevada) Arcades-An arcade game is a coin-operated entertainment machine, typically installed in businesses such as restaurants, public houses, video arcades, and Family Entertainment Centers. Most arcade games are redemption games, merchandisers (such as Claw crane), video games or pinball machines. If gambling is illegal for minors then so should arcades because the basically share the same concepts of action. In a casino you trade in your money to get chips equal to the same value of money as you put in. These chips only have value in the casino where they are used to place bets. In Arcades people of any age can trade in their money for tokens which can be used to spend on any game they want to play like redemption games. Games like the ’coin pusher’ where you put in a token and as it falls you hope it tips over more coins the more coins tipped over the more tickets are won. The seems an awful lot like a slot machine where you put in a quarter and you pull the lever the higher the score the more money you win. Con I accept this debate and will argue against the proposition set forth by my opponent. I accept the definitions supplied by my opponent in round one. I shall note before continuing that the burden of proof rests on the shoulders of my opponent, as he is the one challenging the status quo. My primary purpose in this debate is to refute the arguments put forth by pro. First of all, I would like to point out the absurdity of my opponents proposal that ALL arcade games should be made illegal for minors, as many arcade games are completely unlike gambling and provide a legitimate entertainment service. That being said, there are a few types of arcade that could—by definition—be considered gambling, but they are not officially classified so because the service they provide comprises their purpose more so than gambling does. The primary purpose of arcade gaming is to supply a means of exchanging a service—entertainment—for money. The consequences of gambling with arcade games are minuscule, and therefore not great enough to warrant regulation. It would be a waste of time and money to regulate such activity when the positive effects greatly outweigh the negative effects. My opponent claims that gambling and arcade games ’basically share the same concepts of action.’ Some arcade games have a similar way of operating to that of a gambling activity, and some could even be considered gambling by definition, but there are a couple important differences: 1) The success rate of arcade games is directly related to ability, as all variables are known and there is at least one method of control. I can play ’initial D’ (the racing game) at the arcade with my friend and if I win I’m allowed to stay for another round which in other words I just won another turn and a turn is equal to the same amount of money I put in to play the game so basically I gained some more value for winning. Same thing in poker I can play a tournament and if I won an ’all-in’ hand I am allowed to stay at the table, but my opponent is forced to leave. It’s the same concept what kids learn to do at the arcade is no different from what adults do at the casinos. ’The amount of money payed for arcade games is proportional to the service gained, and the possibility of leaving with more money than you came with is not presented.’ O I beg to differ from this there are many ’redemption arcades’ where you can walk out with prizes of higher value than the money you put in. From personal experience I once bought 1 dollar worth of tokens. I put 1 token inside the game ’wheel of fortune’ a game where a flashing light moves around a circle and you have to hit the light on the red light bulb to spin the wheel. Well I got the light to hit the red and I won the ’jackpot’ 1000 tickets. I find it hilarious that arcade games offer a ’jackpot’ to their games, sounds awfully familiar to many other games that adults play at the casino. 1 token was worth a quarter in value and I used the other 3 token to play the wheel of fortune game again feeling lucky and I lost. Many customers have voiced their complaints about this game using words like ’rigged’ and ’cheated’ to describe the integrity of this game. You could spend 50 dollars on this game and lose 50 times and walk out with nothing. And yes, I agree that there are some arcade games that could be labeled gambling by definition. There are many different types of arcade games, and some do fit the definition of gambling, but to outlaw all arcade games because a minority can be considered gambling is not logical. Arcade games that fit the definition of gambling are still quite different than the gambling games found in casinos. Because arcade games come in so many different shapes and forms, it is hard to provide qualities which all arcade games share. The qualities that I provided in round are meant to be a summary of a majority of arcade games. There could be games that do not fit those qualities, but if there are, they are an extreme minority and it would be a waste of time and money to regulate such games when the effort that would be required to regulate them would greatly outweigh the negative consequences of not regulating them. After you win a prize you think it will be over and the kid will just go home happy. Again another example with the stacker game people will keep playing out of frustration because they already put so much money into it same with the claw machines, these games are just as addictive to children as gambling is to adults and it’s the same motive of operation. You put money in have a chance to win something bigger. I will say my opponent has already admitted that there are some games that display the gambling concepts found in local arcades. But these are no longer the minority go to a place like Chucky Cheese all they have are redemption games. But even if it was a minority that should be enough to outlaw it because like I said before, kids will find the opportunity of winning prizes so alluring they will just go to the arcade and ignore the other games and play the ones that offer you the tickets.
